Hi,
first time posting here.
Any tipps on how to improve mental calculations / decrease the time to do so?
On harder questions I lose too much time writing things down and very often make mistakes.
Does anyone know a good app for practicing?
Are there certain rules I should just repeat every day?
I'm trying to find the most efficient way to improve
Looking forward to any advice.

oh its the opposite for me. I tend to do mental math but get it wrong sometimes. Therefore I am retraining to write everything down. But this does not answer your question, does it..

Well for gmat quant questions you dont have to be an ace in doing mental calculations , all one is required to be good is at concepts.
I would advise you to solve questions and develop a habit of solving questions step by step than doing mentally.
At this stage do not get distracted by timing , work on getting accuracy...
