A parallelogram is a symmetrical figure. Therefore, the proof is evident.

Thanks a bunch desertEagle! Can u please refer any site where i can get the proof?
Also to clear my concept, if i want to find out the area of the triangle BMC, i have to draw a seperate perpendicular height of the triangle, right? We would consider MP as height only if this was a rectangle or square, right?
