Hi friends ,

I gave Gmat prep 2 times have got 49 in both of them . I donot have the data for the first test but in second test , I got 10 incorrect. The incorrect questions were q4 , 7,8,9 19,20 ,22,23,24,35 .

I want to know how many correct questions do I need to have 51 in quant.And do you think having 4 wrong questions in first 10 caused this?

Please advice .I am writing gmat in May.

It is difficult to say if not impossible how many wrong questions you can get and still obtain, say a Quant. score over 50. The reason is that your score depends on how many difficult questions you got correct.

For example, if you reach 750 type questions and get them right, and then if the computer gives you a 760 and you get it wrong, then it will give you a slighter lower level again. If you get it right, then it will give you a slightly harder one - until you reach a point of stability - that is, when you can get anything below that point correct and anything above that point incorrect. This stability point is in fact your score.

Therefore, I would argue that you can get 10 wrong and still get a 51. However, as you pointed out, you got several consecutive questions wrong. This alone will drop your score a lot more then getting questions wrong in different intervals.
