You've got to be careful but look at each piece individually:
(A) 1+(1/7) = 8/7


(B) 1+1/(8/7)...
(i) First, figure out 1/(8/7) = 7/8
(ii)Then, 1+7/8 = 15/8

(C) 1+1/(15/8)...
(i) First, figure out 1/(15/8) = 8/15
(ii)Then, 1+8/15 = 23/15

(D) 1+1/(23/15)...
(i) First, figure out 1/(23/15) = 15/23
(ii)Then, 1+15/23 = 38/23

(E) 1+1/(38/23)...
(i) First, figure out 1/(38/23) = 23/38
(ii)Then, 1+23/38 = 61/38

therefore answer is 61/38.

THe key is to know how many times you have to do the repeating division.

15/8
=>
1 + 1 /
1 + 1/
1 + 8/15
=>
1 + 1 /
1 + 1/
23/15
=>
1 + 1 /
1 + 15/23
=>
1 + 1 /
38/23
=>
1+23/38
=>
61/38

So answer is B
