m + n = z + 4 + y + e = (z+e) + (4+y) = 10 + (-5) = 5

Thanks. I think I got the whole addition table thing wrong.
I was doing summation of a row shows match the number of left and summation of columns should have match the top number . And then trying to solve the equation.

Yeah, this one threw me also when I got it and I felt like a total dumbass since I think it was like the 2nd problem on the GMAT prep cat. I have seen many types of addition tables, and this one is a complicated way to display one.

As usual, wording on some of these gmat problems sucks.

It seems complicated, at a glance however after a few calculations (2 mins)
answer come up = 5

Ans: 5
