In the figure below, equilateral traingle BAC is inscribed in a circle. If the length of arc BAC is 24, what is the approx. diameter of the circle?

a) 5
b) 8
c) 11
d) 15
e) 19

(2*pi*D)/3 = 24
=>D = 11 appx

Extending radius from center of circle, we can get an isoceles triangle AOB. Angle AOB = 120, angle OAB = OBA = 30.

Let the radius be r.

240/360 * 2pi(r) = 24

2r = d = 24/pi * 240/120 = 48/pi = ~48/3 = 16

Ans D (closest to 16 since I rounded pi from 3.14 to 3)

Question says major arc ABC is 24, we also know the angle that defines this major arc is 240 degreesm so 240/360 * 2pi(r) = 24.
