This might be a typo. To solve above equation, along with xy you would need to know either x or y

If problem was (2^(x+y)^2)/(2^(x-y)^2) then we can solve with just xy

2^{(x+y)^2 -( x-y)^2}
2^{(x^2+y^2+ 2xy) - (x^2+y^2 - 2xy)}
 2^4xy=>16
