A part for a machine is 1/4 inch too small. If the correct size for the part is 4 inches, by what % is the part is too small?

1/4 %
4 %
6 1/4 %
10 %
12 1/2 %

please explian

(4-9/4)/4 --> (16/4-15/4)4 --> 1/4/4 --> 1/8 so it should be 12 1/2 %

pfffft hahahahaha, ya it def is 6 1/4 %. I dont know why I said 1/4/4 = 1/8 b/c it clearly is 1/16.

Sorry for the mix up.
