A's hot tub is half filled. His swimming pool, which has a capacity 4 times of that of the tub, is filled to 4/5 of its capacity. If the hot tube is drained into the swiming pool, to what fraction of its capacity will the pool be filled?

A's full capacity = C
tubs capacity = 4C

water filled =4C*4/5+ C/2 = (16/5 +1/2 ) *C= 37/10 *C

Fraction of capacity filled = (37/10 *C)/4C = 37/40

for these types of questions I always like creating my own numbers.
For example:
Hot Tub Capacity is 20 (since it is half-filled it has 10 units in it)
Pool is 80 (20 * 4) and is filled with 64 units (4/5 * 80)
Add the 10 in the tub to the pool and the new total in the pool is 74/80 = 37/40.
