3 integers have an average of 27. The median of these three integers is 20. What is the least possible value of the largest of these three numbers?

A) 21
B) 28
C) 41
D) 42
E) 60

The answer is C,
a+20+c=81, then try to plug given choices. The least is 41
20+20+41=81

A + 20 + c = 81

If c is 28 hen the mean is 24, then A should be more than 27 to get and avegarge of 27.

When C is 41, A cab less than 20.

D for me. x+y+20=81
x+y=61
since median is 20, x is less than 20. 81-19=42

if median is 20, x<=20

to get the least value of the largest number, use the largest value of the least number.
using 20
largest number = 61-20 = 41

OA on this one is C. The median is in the middle, but not necessarily higher or lower than the endpoints. So this list maxes out at 20, 20, and 41.
