S1: Gives info about boys taking biology. We still have no idea about the girls in the class.
S2: Let total number of students studying Biology = x
Then total number of girls in class = 2x
Total boys + Total girls = Total Bio + Total Non Bio
18 + 2x = 26 + x
=> x= 8
Then total number of girls in class = 2x =16
Total number of students = 18 +16 = 34
