Do doctors make more money than lawyers and accountants?
(1) An accountant's average salary is 20 percent higher than that of a lawyer.
(2) An accountant's average salary is 10 percent higher than that of a doctor.
I came across this question in an old practice book (Petersons) and I got it "wrong" according to the book but I am sure the book is wrong, not me. The book says (C) is correct since you need both statements to figure out whether doctors make more than accountants and whether they make more than lawyers. I disagree because the question can be answered with a resounding "No" based only on information from statement (2), so I put (B). After all, if doctors do not make more than accountants, they cannot possibly make more than both accountants and lawyers. How can I be wrong? Do you agree this is a bad answer?

Hi,
Yop in my point of view, B is the answer. As Doctor Salary > Lawyers + Accountants
As per B accountant earn > 1.10 * Doctor.
So a staight 'NO' is the answer.
P S: It can only be C if Lawyers earn negatives :-D
