Target question: What is the value of the positive integer N?
Statement 1: N is a multiple of 2, 3, and 6.
6 = (2)(3)
So, if N is a multiple of 6, then we can also be certain that N is a multiple of both 2 and 3
So, some possible values of N include 6, 12, 18, 24, 30, ...
Since we can’t answer the target question with certainty, statement 1 is NOT SUFFICIENT
Statement 2: 30 < N < 70
Statement 2 is obviously NOT SUFFICIENT
Statements 1 and 2 combined
There are several values of N that satisfy BOTH statements.
Some possible values of N include 36, 42, 48, 54, ... etc.
Since we can’t answer the target question with certainty, the combined statements are NOT SUFFICIENT
