From S1 we know that x is not 0 so we are asked to know if y^2<1. Since we do not y we can not conclude anything
From S2 we do not know anything about x so we can not conclude anything
From S1 and S2 we can not conclude anything because y^2 can be greater or lower than 1 even if y<0

Is xy > x/y?

(1) xy > 0
(2) y < 0


1: insuff. 2*1 --> 2*1>2/1??? NO can imagine many other values exist to get a YES.

2: no help. can be -2*-1 >-2/-1? NO. But -3*-9> -3/-9

Together. X must also be <0.

Again -2*-1>-2*-1? NO but -3*-9>-3/-9

E like everyone else.

stat 1 says xy>0. so x=2, y=1, and xy=x/y. or y=2 and x=3 and xy>x/y. Insuff

stat 2 says y<0. no info about x. insuff

Together, we can say that x<0. But, x could be -3 and y could be -2, then xy < x/y

INSUFFICIENT

2) let x=2 y=-1
-2> -2 False

2) let x=-1/2 y =-1
1/2> -1/2 True

INSUFFICIENT

Together, we know that x is negative and y is negative, but we don't know whether they are integers.

let x= -1/2
let y= -10

5> 1/20 True

Let x=-10
Let y=-1/2

5> 20 False
