Question

Chanse took his daughter's soccer team for Pizza,1/6 of thh team had exactly 1 slice each,1/6 of thh team had exactly 2 slices each,1/6 of thh team had exactly 3 slices each and the rest had atleast 4 slices each.If a whole pizza consists of 6 slices,did any of the players eat a whole pizzza?

1.there are 12 players on the team.
2.The players ate an avg. of 3 slices per person.

Please give explanations for your answers!

1 is insuff . No need to explain.
2 is suff. 
1/6 x 1 + 1/6 x 2 + 1/6 x 3 + 3/6 x 4 =3 slice average.
If any person eats more than 4 slices. Average can not be 3.

could you explain why 1 is insuff.

It is said that some people had 1 slice, other 2, 3 and the remainig had 4. So no one clearly had more than 4 slices. Since a pizza consists of 6 slices, no one could have eaten a whole pizza. (are they allow to eat other person's slice?) 
I would have said 1 suff.

Assume the number of players on the team to be X.
From the given data:
1/6th of the team had 1 slice each ==> X/6 slices of pizza
1/6th of the team had 2 slices each ==> 2X/6 slices of pizza
1/6th of the team had 3 slices each ==> 3X/6 slices of pizza
3/6th(remaining members) of the team had  at least  4 slices each ==> (3X*a)/6 slices of pizza, where a=4,5,6...

consider the second statement first:
 The players ate an avg. of 3 slices per person

based on what we worked out earlier, average slices per person can be calculated as:
Avg Slice per person= Total Slices/No. of persons=  /

Now lets assume that 3/6th of the players had 4 pizza slices each (a=4).
Avg slice per person= X* / 
 = 3

Since the average works out to be true for a=4, we can conclude that the nobody on the team had more than 4 slices of pizza and hence no one ate the entire pizza

Statement 1 is insufficient as it does not give any information about how many slices the rest of the team had.

Hence, answer is  B
