crackgmat , your first answer is right, but second one is wrong.

I get 80 for the 400+ question as well. There are 20 different number combo's for each number whose first digit is over 4.

For the second should the answer be (5*4*1)*2 because there are two numbers than make the number even?

1. 4 * 5 * 4 = 80

2. 4 * 5 * 2 = 40

are these right derek ?

Stupid me. I read it as 'repetitions ARE allowed'. If repetition is NOT Allowed rahul is right. If repetitions are allowed - I am right. :wink
