Lets plug in:
On the first flor there are 9 shelves and on the second 6 (2/3 ratio).
On the first flor there are 6 books on each shelve and on the second 5 (5/6 ratio).
The total num. of books in the liabrary is 6*5+9*6= 30+54=94.
The num. of boks on the firtst shelve si 9*6=54.
The ratio between them is 54/94=9/14.
The correct answer is A

Perfect solution nov79. What I am wondering though is why you took 9 and 6 shelves? Why not simply 3 and 2, the smallest integral numbers that work!
