today john is 3 times mark , this means J = 3M...........................1
in 13 years
j = J + 13
M = M+13
John will be one year younger than twice the age of Mark on that day
J+13= 2(M+13)-1
j+13= 2m+25
from 1;
3m+13= 2m+25
m = 12
therefore j = 36
! I see my mistake. I grouped (2M+13)-1 instead of 2(M+13)-1
