Hi again there,
another quesion, which is confusing me:
On an examination there are 25 different topics and only 3 questions. A student did not have enough time to prepare for 10 of the topics. What is the probability that he will be able to answer all three questions on the exam?
The original answer is 91/120.
I come up with 91/460.
My approach: Possible arrangement of all questions: (25*24*23)/3! = 2300.
Possible questions, student could answer (20-10=15): (15*14*13)/3! = 455.
I divided the latter through the first. My result was: 455/2300, which is 91/460.
What did I do wrong?

The original answer indicates that the probability that he'll be able to answer all three questions is over 75%.
His chance at answering any individual question is LESS than 75%, so the probability he will answer all three questions correctly is significantly less than 75%.
Your answer is correct, the OA is wrong.
