a:b:C = 3:4:7
a/b =3/4
b/c =4/7
implies a = 3/4b
& c= 7/4b

substiute in c-a = 12 we will get value of b and accordinlgy all values and add them

so both are rquired to answer it ......... it should be C both stats together are suiffcient
could u tell me what is the correct answer

But when we add all together we get a final value of 2C.....which can vary based on the value of C right.....how can C be the answer

when we solve this we will get a= 9 b= 12 and c = 21

now a+b+c = 9+12+21 = 42 so these values are satisfyin both options 9:12:21= 3:4:7 and c-a =21-9=12
so where is the confusion .. as both are required to answer it

It also gives you the difference between two ratios thereby defining the ratio and hence C is the correct answer !
