how did you guys interpret Costing $13, you can get a STICKER and with which you would be charged only $0.3 for each time
Please explain.

If he buys the sticker, he saves .45 per day...so to save 13 (which is the cost of the sticker), he will have to use the sticker for 13/.9 = 14.4 days = approx 15 days

HTH

let there be light :idea:

correction...

if he buys the sticker, he will save .45 PER TRIP (and not per day) as mentioned in my previous post....hence the figure 13/.9...

cheers!

I get 15 days...

Travel per day without sticker: $1.50
Travel per day with sticker: $0.30 + $13/x

Therefore, in order to determine the point at which the sticker becomes more cost effective:

$13+$0.6x=$1.5x, where x is equal to the number of days traveled.

$13=$0.9x
13/9=x=14.44

Since we're talking about days traveled (and not number of times s/he crosses the bridge), the person will need to travel 15 days per month in order to save money with the sticker.

I read that it means: if you buy the sticker for $13, you will have to pay $0.30 per toll, as opposed to the full price of $0.75 per toll (or, you save $0.45 per toll).

Without sticker, 2*0.75*X = 1.5X
With sticker, it will cost 13 + 2*0.3X = 13+0.6X

We want

13+0.6x ==14.4

least value of x will be the lowest limit, x = 15
