a+b=4 and .15a+.5b=1.2

solving simulatneously

a =2.3, b = 1.7

I got the same by backsolving. First with B then with D. Ended up with C. Took about 2 mins.

Let 'x' be the amount of A
then

15x+ 50(4-x) = 30*4

Solve for x & you get x = 2.3
