Why do we have to use 8.6(3.2+5.4) and 2.2 (5.4-3.2)?
Under what circumstances do we use that?

Thanks.

Hello

ANY side of a triangle should be less than the addition of the other two sides and should be greater than the difference of the other two sides

Try constructing a triangle that violates the above conditions. That way, you will understand why it is so.

Thanks

Basic property of triangle - if 2 sides are given (3.2,5.4) then ; third side (x) will be

(5.4-3.2) 2.2 OC

Note - also the perimeter limits will be => (3.2+5.4+2.2) < perimeter < (3.2+5.4+8.6)
