I guess the trick is not to calculated intermediate numbers.

the question can be translated as:
1R = 6/50 D = 6/50 *120 Y = (6*120/50) * 75/100 E = (6*120*75/(50*100)) * 2500/50 R = {(6*120*75*2500) / (50*100*50)} * 3500 / 10 Dongs

just compute last term to get ratio.

189000?

50R = 6D
R=(6/50)D
Keep replacing the right side variable based on the other ratios given
we get
R = (6/50)(120)(75/100)(2500/50)(3500/10)V
R=189000V
or R/V = 189000/1

1 RMB = (1/50)(6)(120)= 14.4 yen
14.4 Yen = (14.4/100)(75) = 10.8 Euros
10.8 Euros = 10.8/50 * 2500 = 540 Rupees
540 Rupees = 540/10 * 3500 = 189000 Dongs

1R = 6/50 USD
1Y = 1/120 USD
1E = (100/75)(1/120) = 1/90 USD
1R = (1/50)(1/90) = 1/450 USD
1D = (10/3500)(1/450) = 1/3500*450

R/D = (6/50)*(3500*450) = 6*31500 = 189000

Actually, it`s the methodology that`s most helpful. How did you get that answer?

Duttsit already answered the methodology. I was not 100% sure on the answer hence I didn't post the method to create a wrong impression.

I didn't calculate the intermediate step. I went on replacing one currency with other and ended up with the result.

Looks like I did some mistake in calculation, as my answer seemt to vary from others.

What I did was that multiply them all together without calculating all out (R=6/50*120*75/100*2500/50*3500/10 etc), because then you would be able to cancel a lot of them and the calculation would be much easier and faster.
