To make it 1:1 we need 6 more litre of water.

2x+4x=18 => x = 6. To mantain the 4:4 or 1:1 ratio we need _ + 12 = 12 +12 =24. Thus 12-6 = 6 more litres need to be added.

2x+4x = 18

Therefore 6x = 18 => x =3

sollution has 6 parts water adn 12 parts oils.

now if we add x water

water becomes 6+x, oild remains 12 and total becomes 18 +x.

for a 4:4 ratio (1:1) ratio

6+x = 12 therefore x = 6

or

6+x = (18+x)/2 => x = 6.

So A is the answer
