After first round - x/2 people left over
After second round - x/2 - 15 left over
After third round - x/8 left over

x/2 - 15 = x/8
x = 40

# of people offered job = 40/8 = 5

1 round - x/2 got job
2nd round - x/2 - 15 were present == x/8 ( who got the job)

therefore x=40 , so x/8 ==> 5
