exactly 1(X) + exactly 2 (Y)+ exactly 3(Z) = 500
X+Y+ 100(GIVEN) = 400 - eqn 1
X + 2Y +3Z = 900
X + 2Y = 600 - eqn 2
solving eqn 1 and 2 simultaneously we get Y = 200 ( no. of students with exactly 2 subjects )
only option A is possible

Course (A+B+C) - 100
(d+e+f) - sumnof exactly 2 group overlaps)
Total = A + B + C - (a + b + c) - 2(A+B+C)
500 = 450 + 300 + 150 - (a + b + c) - 2(100)
(a + b + c) = 200
- Elements which are common only for A and B are in section a
- Elements which are common only for A and C are in section b
- Elements which are common only for B and C are in section c
a = b = 0
c = 200 -------(1)
For people who took only Course C
C = a + b + 100
150 = a + b + 100
a + b = 50
C has only 50 students left the maximum it can share with a & b is 50
Therefore;
(a + b + c) = 200
(c + 50 ) = 200
c = 150 ------(2)
