(th)/2=s^2 – (1)

(t/2)^2+h^2=t^2
solving for h: --> h=((sqrt3)/2)t – (2)

substituting (2) in (1):

(sqrt3*t^2)/4=s^2
t^2/s^2=4/sqrt3
t/s=2/sqrt(sqrt3) – answer D

Triangle is equilateral

Hence Area = Sqr(3)/4 * t^2

Area of square = s^2

Hence
Sqr(3)/4 * t^2 = s^2
t^2/s^2 = 4/sqr(3)

t/s = 2/(3)^1/4

I am still confused...

I know the equation is

sqrt 3/4 (t^2)=s^2

Do I multiply the s^2 by 4 on the other side and get

3(t^2)=4s^2

I am confused from there..:(

Any assistance would be appreciated

Nope √3 = 4(t^2s^2).

Now solve.



I thought the equation for are of equailateral triangle was

(square root 3/4)*s^2 ?
