There are two cities A and B which are 150 km apart. A train T1 from A to B leaves A at 12 noon and travels at 50 km/hr towards B. Another train T2 from A to B leaves A at 11:30 am and travels at 20 km/hr towards B. A third train T3 , travelling at 30 km/hr, leaves B towards A just when T1 crosses T2. When will train T3 meet train T1?

let after t hour T1 meets T2 and after x hour of that meeting T1 meets T3 so, 50t = 20( t+.5) t =1/3 distance traveled by T1 = 50/3 remaining distance =150-(50/3) so, 50x+30x =150-(50/3) x=5/3 so total time =1/3+5/3=2 hour T1 and T3 meets at 2pm
