That's what threw me off when I did it the long way. Couldn't figure out how to rule out 10.

Take m = 1, remainder = 1 when divided by 6
(the quotient can be 0, only the divisor cannot be 0)

Then take n = 9, remainder = 3 when divided by 6

So m+n=10, remainder = 4 when divided by 6

M = 6q1+1
N = 3q2+3

M+N = 6q1+3q2+4 = 3(2q1+q2)+4

Back-test:
86 <-- (86-4)/3 = integer? No. Ans = A
