In a certain place, the least month rainfall is 0.2 and the greatest is 12.2. If the average month rainfall of twelve month is 3.5, what is the greatest value of the median?

A. 2.4
B. 3.5
C. 4.2
D. 4.8
E. 6.2

Getting 4.8. Same work as shown above. What's the source of the question?

i also get D

average = 3.5. So sum of twelve months => 12* 3.5 = 42

median is the average of Jun and July

since we want the max median, Jan thru May should be 0.2 and Dec is 12.2
Jan thru May: 0.2 * 5 = 1
Dec: 12.2

42 - 1 - 1.2 = 28.80

28.80 / 6 remaining months (Jun to Nov)
= 4.80
