While waiting for his girlfriend to get ready for their date, a man is sitting in the living room watching Sports Center when he hears a loud scream, "I have nothing to wear!" He reluctantly gets up from watching SC and goes into the bedroom where he sees 5 shirts, 3 skirts and 1 pair of pants on the bed. He quickly deduces that, in fact, she DOES have something to wear, and must solve the following problem: What should he say and/or do in this situation:
a) Holler back "Honey, I'm sure you'll figure it out." b) Start matching various shirts with skirts and offering suggestions. c) Simply agree that she has nothing to wear d) Proceed to teach her how to use Comb/Perm to determine just how many different combinations of outfits she ACTUALLY has on the bed so she will see the error in her calculation which evidently resulted from division by zero or used some irrational number (BTW, irrational numbers are a woman's favorite number for obvious reasons). e) Say nothing, turn around, walk back out to living room and resume watching Sports Center

I said "I'm sorry that all of your clothes are old and disgusting. It must be frustrating to not have anything to wear." She spent another 30 minutes looking for something else, and I got to finish watching SC . She felt like I "understood" her and appreciated it. That's what she told me at least.
