This is a good one. I tripped on this on the test, The key is to simplify correctly.
Let a be the two equal sides and c be the hypotenuse. then c= a*sqrt(2)
Therefore 2a + a*sqrt(2) = 16 + 16sqrt(2)
a*sqrt(2) [sqrt(2)+ 1] == 16(1+sqrt(2)]
therefore a == 16/sqrt(2) which is 8*(sqrt2)
That is the side of the rt triangle. Hypotenuse will be 16.
