The immigration officer will actually ask you the question of repaying the loan - you should have a good answer.

I had a loan and I was asked. I got a visa without issues.

If I have a big loan to repay, it's obv that I would work in US for a couple of years to repay it.
What kind of answer is appropriate to loan repayment qn?

Thanks DreamMba2012 for asking this question.

bb - I am in the same situation even though the loan amount would not be much after scholarship and that at the least my family would be able to take up. But as DreamMBA2012 put it, I will work in US for a few years and pay back the loan amount. What else could be said and with what specificity?
It would be great if you could throw some light on the kind of answers for student loans and why this school questions by the consulate officer.

Thanks

Just got a kudos from someone for my post 10 years ago 😇🤯

Just a quick reply and update on the current situation with visas and loans:

1. I have heard a few anecdotal stories about African applicants that often an admit is not enough and getting a scholarship is needed to ensure an easy visa approval if your income is low
2. In general, however, I have seen visa situations be completely independent of the loan question and most international students, including those who are getting no scholarship, are able to get their visas for the Top 20 MBA programs without questions or issues.
Let me know if you have had a different experience.

Hello, you mentioned something about explaining to the visa officers how you intend to repay the loan. Considering F1 students are not supposed to stay and work after studies, how best can you answer that question without actually suggesting you will stay and work to pay?
