Hi everyone, I was just wondering if it's possible to negotiate a Forte Fellowship grant? Since it's sponsored by an external organization, not the university.
I received a Forte Fellowship grant of $30,000 but received a $40,000 entrance scholarship offer from another school. Can I ask for them to reconsider and match the $40,000 or would it be a ridiculous request? Thanks!

I have not heard of forte changing their grant amounts but it does not mean they don’t.... I think it’s totally normal to ask. You just have to be very nice and straightforward about it. There’s always a way to sound friendly about even a crazy request and vice versa.
On the positive note, I have not heard of anyone losing it either so even if you’re obnoxious, which I don’t think you will be but worst case, they’ll just say no and leave it as is.
