Line m passes through the origin. Line l is parallel to line m. What are the equations of the two lines?
(1) The horizontal distance between the two lines is 5 units.
(2) Line l has a y-intercept of 2.5.

The answer is (C)
To find the equation of a line, we need to know either
1) slope and one point on the line
2) 2 points on the line
The question states that line m passes through the origin (0,0). But does not mention the slope. Hence we can't determine its equation.

Statement 1 =>
Horizontal distance = 5 units. i.e X-intercept of line l = 5 units. But we still don't know the slope.
This statement in not sufficient.
Statement 2=>
Y intercept of line l = 2.5 units. No info on slope
This statement is not sufficient.
Together 1 & 2 => 2 points on line l (x intercept & y intercept). Which allows to determine equation of line l.
The slope of line l and origin (0,0) gives equation of line m.
