HI All,
My first post here. I've struggled for 60+ hours on Sc and finally think I am making progress but I'm not sure how to gauge how I am doing? The GMAT pill for SC (the only pill I purchased) has been a great help. I'm pushing for a 700+. Quant is at 48 (might get up to 50 but unlikely) and more importantly verbal is at 34.
I seem to be inconsistent on the SC. I can get the 700 questions correct quite regularly but then get several 600 and 500 questions wrong in the mix. Speed is okay on them but could be faster and hope to be with more practice.
I suppose the question is I am asking is; is this inconsistency normal for SC?
Also another question: After much practice I took my final GMATprep. I scored a 34 on the Verbal. Review it of the last 12 questions I got 10 wrong (3 wrong, 1 right, 3 wrong, 1 right, 6 wrong). The last 6 were a RC and I had 7 minutes left so I just guessed and didn't get worked up. How much damage was done to my score in butchering the last 10 questions like that and particularly the last 6?
This forum is invaluable and I thank all the people for contributing. I hope I can help someone out in due course.

I think this topic has been debated almost endlessly multiple times, with no clear conclusion, as far as I know. Few days back, I came across this interesting page on GMAC's website:

This sort of variation is not uncommon, especially if you go by feel on Sentence Correction. You really need to focus on a foundational strategy on SC. Missing easy questions is a killer for your score. Make sure you can absolutely nail all 500 questions and can be very solid on 600 questions. Focus on meaning and grammatical topics. Work your way from easy to hard.
As for your end-of-test performance, that sort of performance will have a massive, negative impact on your score. Because the test is adaptive, when you start missing chunks of questions, you start missing easier and easier questions (and like I said before missing easier questions is much more detrimental to your score than missing hard questions). Manage your time wisely so you have plenty of time to address the last 5-10 problems.
