i'm not allowed to post links so ill describe it- i went to the sentence correction forum here, clicked the Sentence Correction Question Directory Topic and Difficulty, and clicked the "all 500-level sc questions"
ive looked through about 20 questions and they seem pretty difficult for 500-600 level questions.
i'm generally better at mathematics than english/grammar. 550 level quant questions are mostly a breeze for me, so i was kind of expecting 550~ sentence corrections to be the same way
It could just be me and i really need to brush up on my sentence correction. I am a native english speaker, so i'm a little freaked out im having trouble with the lowest tier questions.

GMAT SCs requires a combination of knowledge (grammar rules/idioms) and pattern-matching (finding the "clues" in the prompt and in the answers; knowing the common patterns that GMAT uses in the correct and incorrect answers, etc.).
If you're not comfortable dealing with SCs just yet, then it might be that you haven't studied enough or you haven't used the proper resources. To those ends, I have a few questions:
1) How long have you been studying?
2) What resources are you using?
3) How have you been scoring on your practice CATs (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores)?
4) What is your goal score?
5) When is your Official Test Date?

ive been on and off studying since october. i probably only get 5 hours or less studying time each week since i have work and ive been procrastinating. i have the OG guide books. each week i do practice problems on one of the subjects (ie- one week ill only answer data sufficiency, second week ill only do sentence correction, third week ill do quant problems, etc)
ive read through the foundations of gmat verbal and manhattan guide 8 sentence correction. even though i read through them, i feel as if i didnt really absorb as much information as i should have. dont get me wrong, ive definitely improved since i read those study guides, but im still very slow at verbal. for example, i know what an adjective, subject ver agreement are, but if you give me a gmat sentence correction problem, i will probably have a hard time pointing out which is the adjective and which is the subject verb, etc. i know this is sad since im a native english speaker. i just dont understand words as well as i understand numbers. i know most guides and tips say there are patterns and such to look out for in sentence correction, but i just dont understand and see them as i do in quant problems.
i havent done any CAT tests yet, i was going to save my 2 practice CATs when i felt more comfortable with my timing. right now its taking me a long time to answer questions and i even end up getting them wrong sometimes (more so with all the verbal sections)
honestly, my goal is only a 550+ i know that sounds very low and easily attainable, but with my timing and poor verbal skills i dont feel comfortable at all (even though i started studying in october). i'm about 90% confident i can get an average score in quant, its verbal im having problems with.
i havent signed up for a test date. i know i should so i can put the pressure on myself to study more as the time gets closer, but i also dont want to rush it. i really only want to take this once (im sure everyone does also haha) since $250 is already difficult for me pay for.
i guess my biggest problem in sentence corrections are not being able to identify patterns and clues. words and sentences all look the same to me. im a lot more comfortable with quant problems and im able to identify how to at least go about solving the problems, but with sentence correction i usually just go by what sounds right, even though ive read through guides. i just feel really hopeless in verbal lol
edit: when i was going through the problems in foundations, i was able to understand and follow the examples given. but i think its because they divided it up by chapters and sections, so i knew what to look for. like if the chapter was on parallelism, i knew all the examples and practice problems would be about parallelism so i knew to look out for that. but once i answered real SC questions, everything just blended in and everything i read in the guides just went out my head.
edit2: so my current plan was to answer a bunch of questions from the 500level question banks provided here, then move on to the 600s. i was answering questions in the OG, but they didnt have a difficulty rating. i dont want to waste my time trying to answer level 700+ questions when im not going to understand them, let alone intake and memorize the information. so for now im focusing on the lowest leveled questions. although when i search for the 500 level questions provided here on google, theres another thread in gmatclub that lists it as a 600 level... so im not really sure what level they are anymore.
