Hi,
I'm looking for what the best resources for difficult V questions are. I've had a bit of a fluctuation in the scores I get on Verbal; GMATClub's CAT recently put me at 32, which has kinda wrecked my confidence in Verbal. My other practice tests have put me consistently around the 40s, with GMATPrep #1 giving me a 45, GMATPrep #2 giving me a 42, and Veritas Prep giving me a 48 (!), with the worst being a 38 V from Manhattan Prep. Now, most of my attention has been on Quant as a result, but I'm slightly worried that if I'm capable of scoring a 32 on GMATClub's CAT and 38 on MGMAT I may very well end up with something like that on the real exam. As a result, I don't want to completely ignore Verbal, but at the same time the resources offered in the OGMAT seem a tad too easy. I'm hoping to lock down at least a 45 V on the actual exam, though I wouldn't mind something higher. I'm guessing there's a bit of variation based on luck past the 45 V point though, so I'm not really counting on it. Beyond the practice tests, I've maybe spent 3-5 hours of studying Verbal (mainly SC); I've just kinda been good at it, especially reading comprehension. I've been going through MGMAT's Sentence Correction book and it's making my head swim. There's a lot of rules to memorize, but most of the time I just know what's right/wrong without knowing the actual grammar rules behind it. It's the tricky SC stuff that probably trips me up the most on Verbal. Anyways, here's a bunch of questions: Are there any basic rules that I should know to avoid making careless mistakes? Where should I turn my focus towards for difficult verbal material? Should I skip ahead the end of the OGMAT questions?
