Corrected Sentence: Amazon will have sold as many as 7 million Kindles by the end of the year, adding significantly to its earnings since kindle owners appear to buy more books than other shoppers.
The rule for using future perfect tense is that in the sequence of related events that happens in the future, it is used in the verb of a first event.
However, the rule did not apply here.

I see nothing wrong with the corrected sentence. The first event that occurs is the selling of 7 million kindles and then comes the end of the year. So the future perfect tense is correctly used for the event that happens first. Can you explain why you think it is wrong ?

Corrected Sentence is spot on.
However,
ON EGMAT video instruction it was stated that -The rule for using future perfect tense is that in the sequence of related events that happens in the future, it is used in the verb of a first event.
In this case, Amazon will have sold as many as 7 million is the second event.
I wonder if the rule stated in the Egmat video instruction is not true in all future perfect tense.
