Can anyone help me with the negation technique?

What is the negation of

If x, then y

Will it be

If not x ,then not y

or

If x,then not y

or

If not x,then y

or

If x,then may be y

or

If may be x,then y.

Plz clear my doubt.

So in If then Negation- you basically have to negate the then condition and keep the if condition the same. So negation of If x, then y will be
If X, still not Y.

If X then correct, still not Y.

Agai, the simple thing is negate the then portion. Keep the if portion the same since we dont change the set being talked of in negation.
So if X then Y
Negation will be even if X, maybe no Y
In words it means- that despite X, there is no guarantee that Y will happen.
So even if X occurs, we are not sure if Y will happen or not.

Please let me know if it is clear or I will give more e.g. Donot hesitate.
