In fact, I took the original sentence from a science journal. It use "there is case WHERE" however, it may be inappropriate (?) as Stolyar suggests. So I change all "where" inot "in which" so that we will not get confused.
Ihope there is no mistake.
Our formal modeling of this issue utilizes the previous researches, mainly specialized to the case in which the production costs depend only on the total effort or attention the workers devote to all of his tasks.

By the way, the original sentence is D. The C sound nice but the position of ONLY is wrong and this distorts the meaning of the original meaning.
