In school, when I used to say that two of us were wearing the same shirt - I was always corrected.
The teachers told me that two people cannot wear one shirt. I was supposed to say that we were wearing similar shirts.
So my understanding is:
We both wore the same red shirt = we both wore only ONE shirt that was red and took turns wearing it.
We both wore similar red shirts = we both wore a red shirt each and both these shirts were identical.
Can anyone confirm if this distinction between same and similar is accurate.
If it is, can we use it in this following CR question:

Option B : Certain nerve-growth stimulants have similar chemical structures to those of the antibodies against nerve-growth inhibitors.
From the above sentence, is it safe to assume that certain stimulants and antibodies have identical properties?

Similar are very close but NOT 100%
We have TWO red shirts one is burgundy and one is red bright. They are similar but not the same. However, they are still red
Napalm Death and Carcass are both the founders of grindcore. They are quite similar, very close..........but not the same.
In real life same = similar. They are used interchangeably and nobody cares of the difference. However, it still exists

I've never gotten such a quick reply, ever.
So, can I assume that the following are correct?
1. if we're wearing identical shirts - I can say that we are wearing the same shirt.
2. In option B mentioned in the post : the stimulants and antibodies do not have identical chemical structures - just similar ones (their structures match <100%)
