Hey guys, I need some help in creating an idiom studying strategy. Can you guys please reply and let me know how you study/memorize them? I'm thinking of writing down 10 on one flash card and memorizing them. Let me know, thanks.

Even im in the same boat. Till now im only trusting my ear when it comes to idioms, which i know is not good.
I found the idioms list in Kaplans verbal workout to be good. Also if you search there is a list of idioms on this forum. You can take those and try rpactising them in your day to day writing. In this way i think we can remember.
Can someone else suggest any other good strategies ?
I am against using those flashcards to learn idioms.
I think the best way to learn is to find usage entries on a bunch of idioms and just print them out on A4.
I would love to do it myself, but so far didn't get a chance.
If you have time, a good way to recognize idioms is to read. Read articles in the Wall Street Journal, The NY Times, The New Yorker, etc.
If you lack time, memorize sentences containing idioms. "the car is not only red but also fast."
Puting idioms into sentences makes memorization much easier.

Agree. This is really effective. Iam in the process of making a usage sheet. Will post it once completed.
