hello all,
i took my first GMAT prep test today. i got quite a descent score in quantative aptitude, but in VERBAL i got screwed up nicely coz of timing. I could finish hardly 25 questions. and due to the time pressure most of my answers were wrong.

you have to keep practicing until you build a strong fluency in both math and verbal. Rather than spending about 4-5 minutes in each verbal question, you have to improve your speed to the point that you can read faster with good comprehension and then select the right answer in just less than 2 minutes per question.
It's like an athlete who practices for a 100 meters track race. If you want to break the time, you simply have to keep practicing over and over again until you build the speed. Read as many articles from the economists, articles that are so ridiculously boring to you. Such boring articles will train your mind read faster with better understanding. Unlike improving in math, improving in verbal is not a 1 night job.
How good is your grammar? if it's not that good, I recommend you to go to https://www.gmaxonline.com
This website will help you with your foundation that you need to have for the verbal. After that, you need to keep practicing until you get to the level that you want to achieve.

The irony is already i booked my date on 21st July. All these days i put lot of time in Verbal, almost 2months. When taking up individually CR, SC and RC i do well. I thought i will be able to cope up with the time and untill today when i took up first GMAT prep. Do you suggest to postpone the date of my GMAT test date?
