There are 2 known points:
a>In an assumption CR questions the correct choice if reversed will make the conclusion fail.
b>In strengthening and weakening questions the correct choice will strengthen or weaken the assumption and thereby strengthen or weaken the conclusion.
Please correct me if I am wrong:
Therefore what I think is while attempting strengthen/weakening
1> if the question is strengthening - reverse the option will make the conclusion fail.
2>if the question is weakening - reverse the option it will make the conclusion strong.
Basically it get quite tricky when questions are of 700-800 level and choices are close, therefore I think, this way by reversing we can check if the strengthening/weakening ans is correct. this approach is similar to the assumption questions.
Please let me know this is true in all cases?
