Hello everone, Hope you all are well.
I understood why director's evidence is flawed and what the first part of the correct answer choice is, but I didn't quite understand the placement of the underlined part in the correct answer choice and it seems as if it is a restrictive modifier that is modifying the word "assertion" but the assertion, which is what proffesor claimed, was not that the responce, what the director said to refute the proffesor's claim, is meant to refute. Could anyone please help in understanding the placement of this ?Professor: Over the past few years, I have noticed that the students coming to our school are less motivated than students here were in previous years. It seems that the school has become more focused on admitting students who can pay full tuition than it is on attracting students who actually want to learn.
Admissions Director: Your assessment is incorrect. Over the past few years we have been using the same application that we have always used, have received approximately the same number of applications that we have received in the past, and have continued to interview applicants as we always have.
The admissions director's response is flawed in that
(Correct Answer) the evidence provided does not conflict with the assertion that the response is meant to refute.
