we are seeking for an assumption so it must be true in order that the conclusion be true itself. Neither A or C if true or wrong will affect the truth of the conclusion.
However if we assume the contrary of E, that is the shoppers give more attention to price than to flavor then the conclusion that their will be no variations in the spice used in the future will be flawed because no one can predict changes in future prices depending on the market.
Therefore E should be the right answer.
