There are two types of romance novels: those that take place on beaches and those that take place on boats. In some romance novels that take place on boats, the boat symbolizes the author's desire to escape from daily life. Romance novels that take place on beaches, on the other hand, are usually an expression of the author's belief that people should find love and settle down. However, despite these differences, all romance novels share two characteristics: they describe the triumph of love over adversity and they evoke intense feelings of hope and longing in the reader.
If the statements above are true, which one of the following would also have to be true?
(A) All descriptions of boats symbolize the triumph of love over adversity. (B) Any story that describes the triumph of love over adversity is intended to evoke feelings of hope and longing in the reader. (C) Romance novels of any kind are usually intended to fulfill readers' fantasies of escape from daily life. (D) Most stories about beaches express the author's moralistic views on love and settling down. (E) Some stories that express the author's desire for escape from daily life also describe the triumph of love over adversity.
