"Less on X than on Y" is proper idiom. B is not grammatically wrong but wordy

OA is C.

B is widely used colloquially. C is the right grammatical version.

Apart from being suspicious when Venksune posts SC questions :wink:
how is it possible for non guru takers to discriminate B and C ?
I mean both are correct on a grammar point of view but have slightly various meanings...

I must agree this is a tricky one. I would have based myself on the idiom but I must also admit that I often heard the B version. Well, good question and I hope I won't encounter this question on the exam, or if I do, I will know what to pick :roll:

"Less than" or "More than" is the right idiom.

Just that one thing will lead you to C and E. In E, we need "on" to have a correct comparison .

I dont think B is correct. The director wants to emphasize importance of one set of criteria over the other. This sentence tests comparison and some of the correct idioms are listed above.

Where did you get this one, venksune?
